Structure & Working Principle
Oilite bushings are made from high-density sintered bronze powder and contain 20–25% oil, distributed within thousands of microscopic pores.
When the bearing rotates, the heat generated by friction causes the oil to seep out of the pores, forming a stable oil film between the shaft and bushing. When the bearing stops, the oil is drawn back into the pores by capillary action, creating a self-lubricating cycle.
