Application areas of Carbon Graphite Bushing

1. Automotive industry
In engine components, carbon graphite bushings can be applied to key parts such as crankshaft connecting rods, camshaft bearings, etc. with their self-lubricating and high temperature resistance (long-term resistance to more than 260°C), reducing metal-to-metal friction and reducing the impact of thermal expansion. In terms of suspension system, its high compressive strength (up to 200MPa) can support the reciprocating motion of the shock absorber piston rod, and the damping characteristics of graphite can effectively absorb road impact.
2. Chemical equipment field
In centrifugal pumps that transport highly corrosive media such as concentrated sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid, carbon graphite bushings show better corrosion resistance than stainless steel (annual corrosion rate <0.02mm), and their microporous structure can absorb the medium to form a protective film. When used in valve sealing components, the composite graphite material achieves zero leakage under 150℃/3MPa conditions, and the service life can be extended to more than 5 times that of traditional bronze materials with a polytetrafluoroethylene coating.


3. Aerospace field
The turbine shaft system of aircraft engines uses nanographite modified bushings, which still maintain a PV value (pressure-velocity product) of more than 0.8 in a high-temperature gas environment of 800℃, supporting ultra-high-speed rotation of 30,000rpm. When used in landing gear actuators, carbon fiber reinforced graphite material achieves a lightweight index of specific strength>180MPa·cm³/g, and the multi-layer coating process stabilizes the friction coefficient in the range of 0.12±0.02.
4. Fluid machinery field
For high-temperature and high-pressure pumps (such as nuclear power main circulation pumps), the wear rate of silicon carbide-graphite composite bushings is only 0.001mm³/(N·m) under 350℃/25MPa conditions, which is two orders of magnitude higher than traditional babbitt alloys. In the application of valve guide sleeves, gradient density graphite materials (surface density 1.85g/cm³, core 1.65g/cm³) achieve pressure adaptive sealing through directional pore distribution, and the leakage rate is <10ppm.
