Single row tapered roller bearing is composed of inner ring, outer ring, tapered roller and basket cage with conical raceway. It mainly bears the combined radial and axial load dominated by radial load. Almost all tapered rollers adopt basket cage stamped with low-carbon steel plate. Its structural shape is shown in the figure below. The cage has the advantages of simple structure, good strength and easy processing. It is a structure widely used by bearing enterprises at home and abroad.
The tapered roller bearing with basket cage is designed with small non working retaining edge on the inner ring, which is used to make the inner ring, roller and cage become an inseparable assembly, so as to facilitate the assembly, installation and use of the bearing. However, due to the existence of a small retaining edge on the inner ring, the basket cage manufactured according to the size of the product drawing can not directly carry out the assembly process of the inner ring and roller of the bearing. Therefore, the basket cage must be expanded again after stamping and before bearing assembly, that is, the small end of the cage must be enlarged, so that after the rollers are installed into the pocket of the cage, it can be smoothly installed into the inner ring with small retaining edge. Then, use the special assembly die to compress the small end of the cage to close to the finished product size specified in the product drawing.
When assembling the bearing, first install the roller into the pocket of the cage, and then put it into the inner ring. The method of loading tapered rollers into the cage pocket is mostly carried out manually in medium and small batch production, and roller loading machinery or automatic device can be used in mass production. After the expanded cage is installed into the roller and inner ring, the special assembly die is used to compress it to close to the finished product size specified in the product drawing. Generally, the expansion process of cage is carried out in the manufacturing workshop of cage, while the compression process of cage is carried out in the bearing assembly workshop after installing rollers and inner rings.
Therefore, using the assembly die to compress the cage is the main task of the assembly workshop. The main function of the assembly die of tapered roller bearing is to compress and restore the expanded basket cage to the size and geometry specified in the product drawing, so as to ensure the normal operation of the bearing, rotation flexibility and noise.
The expansion or contraction of cage is completed by press and die. The correct adjustment of the press and the optimal design of the die can ensure the close combination of the inner ring, roller and cage of the tapered roller bearing. After the shrinkage of the basket cage is completed, the main assembly process of the tapered roller bearing is completed. Then demagnetize, clean and check the nominal width deviation, rotation flexibility, noise and various runout of the internal components. The qualified finished tapered roller bearing can be installed on various equipment and used normally.
