1, low and medium production is not economical:

In many small batches, the production cost of powder metallurgical gears may be higher than the cost of traditional manufacturing methods. In general, more than 5,000 units are more suitable for production by powder metallurgical processes.
2, gear size limit:
The size of the powder metallurgical gear is limited by the pressing ability of the press. The press is generally several tons to several hundred tons of pressure, and the diameter can be basically made into powder metallurgy within 110MM.
3, is not suitable for the production of some gears:
Due to pressing and mold reasons, it is generally not suitable to produce worm wheels, herringbone gears and helical gears with a helical angle greater than 35 °. Bevel gears are generally recommended to be designed within 15 degrees.
4, thickness limit
Because the cavity depth and press stroke must be 2 to 2.5 times the thickness of the gear, and considering the uniformity of the height of the gear longitudinal density, the thickness of the powder metallurgical gear is limited.
